Cuisine Beverage
- 12 cups pineapple skin or 1 large pineapple
- 14 cups water
- 2-3 inches ginger
- 1 tsp turmeric powder or 1 inch turmeric root
If you’re using a whole pineapple, thoroughly scrub and wash your pineapple. I had some pineapple skin in my freezer that I will be using.
Fill a large pot with water, pineapple peels, ginger, and turmeric, and bring to a boil.
Allow pineapple peel to boil for 5-10 minutes or longer for a more concentrated brew.
Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Serve hot or cold. Sweeten with sugar or honey.
Notes for Making Pineapple Skin Tea
- Feel free to improve your tea by adding cloves, garlic, or lime juice.
- If you don’t have any turmeric powder, then freshly grated turmeric root can be used.
- To reduce the amount in this recipe, cut the ingredients in half. I had a lot of pineapple skin, so I made a huge batch.
