- 1 tbsp browning sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar

Rinse your beef in vinegar and water. Pat dry to remove excess water.
Mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Season beef strips with marinade ingredients in a bowl as listed above. Set aside for 2 hours or overnight.
Over high heat oil in a large frying pan, saute onion, cabbage, and carrots for 1-3 minutes. Add the white part of the onion and remaining vegetables except the pepper and stir for another minute.
Remove vegetables and set aside.
In the same pan over medium heat, fry beef strips for 3-5 minutes or until brown. Do it in batches to prevent overcrowding.
Remove beef. Deglaze the pan with the sauce and add back the cooked beef, then stir to coat your beef and allow the sauce to thicken.
Once the sauce thickens, add scotch bonnet pepper, stir-fry vegetables, and combine everything. Top with green parts of the escallion and cover for 1-3 minutes, then remove heat.
Serve.
Notes For Cooking Stir Fry Beef Strips
- Fry beef strips in batches to prevent overcrowding the pan.
- Switch things up with other vegetables such as string beans, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, or any other veggies of your choice.
- Substitute white wine for broth or rice vinegar. You can also use water.
- I recently learned that using baking soda can tenderize your meat. It works great for this recipe.
- Remove scotch bonnet pepper for less spice, or remove seeds before chopping up.
