- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 tsp. nutmeg powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon powder
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
- pinch of salt (optional)
- vegetable oil
In a bowl, crush the ripe bananas until they look mushy and have as little lumps as possible.
Add cinnamon powder, nutmeg, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to crushed bananas.
Add flour to the mixture until fully incorporated. Stir in a pinch of salt.
Heat oil over medium heat. Using a scoop, pour small amounts of batter into the oil.
Fry both sides until golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel and serve.
Notes for Making Banana Fritters
- When frying the batter, keep the flame on medium to low heat to prevent the batter from burning.
- Though a great snack, it can get greasy. After frying, drain on an absorbent paper towel before serving.
- Ensure you sift the flour a few times before using it to help incorporate all the ingredients together when mixing.
